Hosking takes the final stage, HTC-Highroad dominants all the trophies
Chloe Hosking of HTC-Highroad made it an easy sprint to take the Chongming City Circuit race while the team mate yellow jersey leader Ina-Yoko Teutenberg celebrated the overall GC lead behind a wheel.
“On the last 3km HTC-Highroad formed a high-speed train to lead other teams, all of our riders were in the front, Tutenberg was close to my shoulder ranked 2nd and I took the stage,” said Hosking who was the yellow jersey of Tour of Chongming Island 2009.
It was leisure and sunny ride today, no teams could shake the powerful HTC-Highroad and riders rather stay comfortable to witness how strong this American team is. “Perfect weather, wide road and good traffic control, many appreciations for the organization’s hard work, this was really a safe and enjoyable race, I would like to race here,” said Teutengerg.
“The team did a great job for me, yesterday I already got a stage win so I shared this stage win with Hosking, we are happy to win two stages, overall GC, Points classification and overall team classification” said Teutenberg.
After three day’s race, the riders would save energy for the World Cup in Chongming Island on Sunday, “Tomorrow our team will easy ride for 1-2 hours and have relaxing massage, then have cups of coffee share the joy of awards” said HTC-Highroad team manager Ronny Lauke who use to be a pro cyclist.
The best Asian rider Maneephan Jutatip (Thailand national team) had a close eye on Zhao Na of China Chongming-Giant Pro Cycling team, “Zhao Na aggressively attack in the last lap but I wouldn’t let blue jersey flied away, my fearless cornering in the last two turns almost lost control that’s why I overtook Zhao Na, she is a strong rider,” said Maneephan Jutatip, followed up by Zhao Na then Wong Wan Yiu of China Chongming-Giant Pro Cycling team.
The only local Chongming Island rider Huang Li (China Chongming-Giant Pro Cycling) overall ranked 83rd was so glad that her parents came to the race, “I didn’t in a good shape because of countless races recently, I am happy to see my parents and relatives but also feel regretful that I wish have better performance,” said Huang Li.
Teutenberg deserve a well break tomorrow, the day after will be the 5th stage UCI women road world cup in Chongming Island which feature two sprint points in almost flat 136.6km. Will Teutenberg continue last year’s trophy, we’ll see.
Two Nederland Bloeit riders individually ranked UCI top two, while Marianne Vos taking a break, Annemiek van Vluten will work hard to defend World Cup leader jersey for the team. Emma Johansson (Hitec Products-UCK) ranked 3rd behind Vos for 40 points and 13 points behind van Vlueuten.
